It’s been quite a while since I’ve written here, but I have not forgotten. I am currently working on a new post about grace. For anyone out there in cyberspace that follows this blog, I am still here. The next post will be up this week sometime. It’s everywhere we go. Workout: crank up the iPod. Going to work: turn up the stereo. On the way home from a long day: etc., etc. Music is woven into the very fabric of our lives. It’s a place that many people go to escape the pressures of life. For others, it’s a person that actually makes sense after a long day of nonsense. And to some it has become so natural to the process of a day that it’s significance is never even realized. Most people, in fact, might not even realize the role that music plays in their day to day activities. More importantly they probably don’t recognize the complete effect that a simple arrangement of sounds has on the decisions they make, the way they walk, talk, or even as much as who they are. More likely is that most would deny that something as seemingly innocent as a song could be any more profound than its melody and chorus. But it’s that melody and chorus, or hook, that is designed to bait you in, to get you humming along with the tune until you can’t get it out.
